The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested seven suspected “one-chance” criminals. They are linked to the murder of Miss Oluchi Opara Glory. She was a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member who had just completed her service in Abuja.

The breakthrough followed a petition dated July 21, 2025, submitted by Onyegbula Akujuobi & Co. to the Inspector General of Police and endorsed to the FCT Commissioner of Police. Acting on the directive, the Scorpion Squad, led by ACP Victor O. Godfrey, launched an intelligence-driven operation.

Through digital tracking and surveillance, police arrested the suspects between August 8 and September 25. The individuals in custody are Solomon Obada (29), Olemba Ajonwe (29), and Aba Godwin (40). Others are Kadijat Yakubu (18), Sunday Ejih Okpeh (29), Joseph Oche Samuel (25), and Michael Sunday Eneh (25).

IInvestigations revealed that the victim’s mobile phone was traced to Kaduna and recovered from a suspect named Yakubu. Two other suspects, Obada and Ajonwe, confessed that Oluchi was stabbed during a struggle inside their operational vehicle, a blue Golf car. They abandoned the car in Wuse II, Abuja, while Oluchi was bleeding.

Police confirmed that one more suspect is still at large. Items recovered include the victim’s phone and the vehicle used in the crime.

The FCT Police Command assured that investigations are ongoing and vowed to bring all perpetrators to justice.
