The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Saturday mounted a Guard of Honour in Abuja in honour of former Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Solomon Ehigiator Arase, as preparations continue for his final burial in his hometown in Edo State.
The ceremony, held at the Police Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, was attended by family members, senior officers, and other dignitaries.
Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, who led the tribute, described the late Arase as a patriotic officer and a man of enviable strength of character who left a legacy of service and integrity in the Force.
The remains of the late IGP were later conveyed to Edo State for interment.
