The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has launched the construction of Arterial Road N20 (Solomon Lar Way), linking Obafemi Awolowo Way (N5) to the Airport Expressway in Abuja.
Wike, who performed the flag-off on Thursday, assured that the project will be completed on time, with funds already secured for smooth execution. He warned against project delays and urged the contractor, Gilmore Nigeria Ltd, to create jobs by engaging local workers.
The Minister added that the FCT Administration is already renovating schools and upgrading healthcare facilities, stressing that no sector will be neglected under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to him, before the end of the administration’s first term, Abuja will undergo visible transformation to compete with top cities worldwide.
The Acting Head of Service, Nancy Nathan, and the Executive Secretary of FCDA, Engr. Richard Dauda, highlighted that the project includes an eight-lane dual carriageway, bridges, drainage, streetlights, and water networks.
