NSITF Links Pension Increment Delay to Verification Exercise

The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) clarifies that the delays in implementing pension increases are directly linked to the ongoing verification of retirees.

The Managing Director, Barr. Oluwaseun Faleye, represented by Executive Director of Finance Samuel Ayodele Olufemi, emphasised this point in Abuja, announcing that the Fund is actively developing a cost-effective verification system to tackle this challenge.

Retirees, through their executive committee, demanded immediate implementation of the court-ordered increment, enrolment in the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), and revival of the Pension Fund Board of Trustees.

Olufemi assured that staff and ex-staff welfare remains a priority, while pensioners’ chairman, Aliyu Danlami, urged faster action.
