The Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), Felix Amechi Obuah, has appealed to Abuja city cleaning contractors to resume work, assuring them that the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) is committed to resolving their outstanding payments.
Obuah appealed during a meeting with the contractors on Monday, September 22, 2025, at his office in Abuja. He explained that delays in settling the debts were not deliberate but due to procedural requirements within the system.
The AMMC Coordinator pledged to fast-track the process by submitting a formal memo to the FCT Minister and following up within a week to ensure timely resolution.
He further emphasised that the FCTA values the contributions of cleaning contractors to maintaining sanitation and environmental health in Abuja, and is working to clear the backlog of debts to restore effective waste management services in the city.
