Nigeria’s leading carrier, Air Peace, is set to launch direct Abuja–London flights beginning October 26, 2025, marking a major breakthrough for Northern passengers who often face long travel times and higher costs.

Currently, most international travelers from Abuja connect through Lagos before flying to the United Kingdom. With the new direct route, Air Peace says passengers will save time and money, while enjoying greater convenience.

Industry observers say this development will strengthen Abuja’s standing as a key aviation hub in West Africa, while also putting pressure on foreign airlines that dominate the London route.

Air Peace’s Chairman, Allen Onyema, described the launch as a bold step that will “democratize international air travel” for Nigerians, making it easier for middle-income travelers to afford flights. The new service is expected to boost tourism, business links, and cultural exchange between Nigeria and the UK.
