At a recent workshop in Abuja, teachers and staff were trained on how to identify, prevent, and educate students about the dangers of trafficking and abuse.
Director of the department, Mr. Kolawole Olobashola, said the initiative would give teachers the tools to guide children morally and academically, noting that traffickers often prey on young people with fake promises and material offers.
NAPTIP officials explained the long-term damage victims face, ranging from poor mental health to loss of self-esteem, and urged schools to play a stronger role in awareness.
The FCT Gender Unit said the sensitisation campaign will be ongoing, ensuring every new set of students gets the same guidance.
