A devastating accident in Abuja’s Life Camp area claimed the life of DSC Adekunle Emmanuel, a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) officer.
A Deputy Superintendent from the same corps accidentally discharged a firearm, striking Emmanuel in the upper left arm.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the incident occurred as the officers travelled from Corner View Hotel to a principal’s residence at Lias Estate. Emmanuel was rushed to Maitama General Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. His body awaits autopsy at the hospital morgue.
The officer involved is currently detained and under questioning. The NSCDC has yet to release an official statement, but a thorough investigation is underway to uncover the details of the accidental shooting.
