Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike visited the Gwarinpa home of the late FCT Head of Service, Mrs. Grace Adayilo, on Tuesday, visibly shaken by her sudden passing, to offer condolences. In a voice heavy with emotion, Wike described Adayilo as an “outstanding civil servant dedicated, vibrant, and selfless,” whose death has left a profound gap in the FCT Administration.

Wike shared his initial disbelief upon hearing the news, saying, “I thought it was a prank. I had no clue she was unwell.” He recounted her commitment, noting how she often arrived early with thoughtful gifts, such as bags of potatoes. “Her work ethic was unmatched,” he said, revealing that he had sought President Bola Tinubu’s approval to extend her tenure for her invaluable guidance, only for her life to be cut short.

As the family grieved, Wike fought back tears and promised the FCT Administration’s full support, including jobs for Adayilo’s four children if unemployed, and covering all burial costs. “No amount of money can replace her, but we’ll stand by you,” he assured them, encouraging the family to honor her legacy of faith and service.

Celebrating Adayilo’s blend of civil service rigor and community warmth, Wike called her a devout Christian with a politician’s heart. He closed with a heartfelt prayer: “May God grant her eternal rest and comfort her loved ones.”
