A passenger train on the Abuja–Kaduna route derailed Tuesday morning, toppling several carriages and sparking panic among commuters.
The mishap occurred shortly after the train left Abuja around 11 a.m. Witnesses described scenes of chaos as passengers scrambled to safety.
The cause of the derailment is not yet known, and authorities have not confirmed if there were casualties. Military personnel have been deployed to assist with evacuation, while officials are expected to issue a statement.
