
Blackout Grips Abuja Suburbs as AEDC Works to Restore Electricity
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced that several neighbourhoods within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are currently experiencing a power outage due to a technical issue.
The update was posted on the company’s official Twitter account on Monday, with assurance that restoration efforts are already underway.
Areas impacted include:
- Nelson Mandela Street, Asokoro
- Efab Classic Estate
- Metro City Estate
- Sticks & Stones
- Yayala Estate
- Trademore Estate
- Choos Estate
- Maxcare Plaza
- Faith Plaza
- Sunflower Plaza
- Erifu Estate
- DME Estate
- Green Path School
- Earth Point Estate
- Sunnyvale Estate
- Brains & Hammer Phases 1, 2 & 4
- Hunters Garden
- Eco Fitness
- And surrounding communities
According to the company, the disruption is the result of a technical fault affecting the distribution network in those locations.
“We acknowledge the outage and deeply regret the inconvenience. Our engineers are currently working to resolve the issue and restore power swiftly,” the statement said.
