The current Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Mr. Christopher Maikalangu, has officially obtained his Certificate of Return from the All Progressives Congress (APC), solidifying his position as the party’s flagbearer in the upcoming council elections.
The certificate was presented to Maikalangu on Wednesday at the APC national headquarters in Abuja, following his victory in the party’s primary election held on June 25, 2025. He clinched the nomination with a total of 51 votes.
Speaking after the presentation, Maikalangu thanked party members for their support and pledged to lead the APC to victory in the forthcoming polls.
“I am confident that with unity and hard work, our party will come out strong in the general elections,” he said.
According to the election timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), elections into FCT area councils are scheduled to take place on February 26, 2026.
