President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Abuja on Saturday night, July 12, 2025, following a successful diplomatic tour of Saint Lucia and Brazil.
His media aide, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the President’s arrival in a post on X (formerly Twitter), marking the end of a two-week trip aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s ties with under-engaged global regions.
In Saint Lucia, Tinubu held landmark discussions to foster new partnerships and boost Nigeria’s presence in the Caribbean. He then proceeded to Rio de Janeiro for the 17th BRICS Summit, where he met with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
Talks between the two leaders focused on expanding trade, infrastructure development, cultural exchange, and cooperation in agriculture and energy—key aspects of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The tour aligns with the President’s broader goal of deepening South-South cooperation and diversifying Nigeria’s international alliances.
