GSS Karshi Triumphs at 2025 JCI Secondary School Debate in Abuja
Government Secondary School (GSS) Karshi has emerged winner of the 2025 Junior Chamber International (JCI) Annual Secondary School Debate held at the ICPC Headquarters Auditorium, Abuja.
The competition, which featured 14 public and private schools across the FCT, focused on the theme: “The Role of Technology in Fighting Financial Corruption.” GSS Karshi secured the highest score of 547 points, while student Fauziya Ibrahim was named Best Speaker.
Chairperson of the event, Jessica Austin, commended the students for their brilliance and reaffirmed JCI’s commitment to grooming young ethical leaders. Keynote speaker, Dr. Demola Bakare, urged students to embrace transparency and civic responsibility.
The school’s principal, Alhaji Kobi Yahaya, praised the team’s dedication and thanked the FCT Education Secretariat and event partners for supporting youth development.
Winners received a trophy, a cash prize, and branded school materials.
