The United States Embassy in Nigeria has issued a fresh security alert, urging American citizens to steer clear of military bases and government buildings in Abuja.
The advisory, released on Monday, cited heightened global security concerns as the reason for the precaution. U.S. embassy staff and their families are also restricted from visiting such locations unless for official duties.
While no specific threat was mentioned, the embassy advised U.S. nationals to remain vigilant, avoid crowded areas, and review their personal security plans.
Despite the alert, the embassy confirmed that its consular services in Abuja and Lagos remain fully operational.
