President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has restated the Federal Government’s dedication to developing key infrastructure that improves the lives of Nigerians.

Speaking through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, at the commissioning of Arterial Road N5 in Abuja, Tinubu described the project as a symbol of progress, connection and renewed hope for the Federal Capital Territory.

The newly completed section of the road stretches from Life Camp Junction to Ring Road 3. It is expected to ease traffic, boost mobility, and drive economic growth in the area.

“This road shows what we can achieve when vision meets action,” the President stated, urging residents to protect and make good use of the facility.

FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, thanked the President for supporting FCT development and clarified that the section just opened is the first phase, with the next phase to be completed by year-end.

Wike emphasized fairness in compensating affected residents, stating that all homeowners whether indigenes or not were paid. “It is not under President Tinubu’s administration that someone will lose their house without compensation,” he said.

The Minister praised Julius Berger for timely delivery and addressed critics by highlighting the road’s positive impact. “A good thing is a good thing, no matter who is in charge,” he added.

Acting FCDA Executive Secretary, Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda, explained that Arterial Road N5 is a vital inter-district link. The newly completed segment is part of Phase 3, and the full project will span several districts including Wuse, Utako, Jabi, Dape, and Gwarimpa.

The eight-lane road features modern infrastructure drainage systems, water and sewer lines, telecom ducts, streetlights, and walkways and is expected to improve connectivity, ease movement, and enhance development across nearby districts.
