FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has guaranteed that residents impacted by ongoing road construction in Gishiri and other areas of Abuja have received and will continue to receive proper compensation.
Wike made the commitment during the inauguration of the Arterial Road N16 (Shehu Shagari Way) to Arterial Road N20 (Wole Soyinka Way) and other road projects in the Katampe District.
The minister expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his consistent support of FCT infrastructure development, describing the projects as part of the administration’s efforts to improve urban mobility and enhance residents’ quality of life.
FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, also addressed the gathering, thanking residents for their patience during construction. She specifically acknowledged the people of Gishiri, Maitama, and the broader FCT community for their resilience and faith in the government’s ability to deliver.
“You are the heart of this city, and this project is a tribute to your enduring hope,” Dr. Mahmoud told the residents.
The road projects represent part of the ongoing infrastructure upgrades across the Federal Capital Territory under the current administration.
