Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has praised the recent repair work on the Benin–Abuja highway, especially around the Iruekpen axis.
Speaking during an inspection visit, the governor expressed satisfaction with the progress, noting that the intervention has significantly reduced travel time on the route. According to him, what used to take hours can now be completed in just 45 minutes.
He described the repairs as timely and impactful, particularly for commuters and businesses that rely on the highway daily.
Governor Okpebholo also thanked the relevant authorities for responding to the needs of road users and urged continuous maintenance to keep the road in good condition.
The Benin–Abuja highway is a key route linking the South-South to the nation’s capital, and its improvement is expected to boost economic activities and ease movement for travelers.
