FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has directed contractors to complete finishing touches and clean up 17 signature projects ahead of their commissioning by President Bola Tinubu starting June 10, 2025.
Following his inspection on June 4, Wike said contractors are putting final touches on projects while cleaning up access roads. “I think when they call me on Sunday or Monday, the road will have been cleaned,” he stated after visiting the International Conference Centre where the President will inaugurate the first project.
The commissioning schedule begins June 10 with the rehabilitated International Conference Centre, followed by the Gishiri Road and interchange connecting Jahi, Maitama and Mabushi on June 11.
President Tinubu will personally commission at least 10 projects, including those in satellite towns, while Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas will handle the remaining projects.
Wike announced he will personally oversee maintenance of the newly rehabilitated ICC, which will be managed by Julius Berger Nigeria PLC.
The commissioning activities commemorate President Tinubu’s second year in office, with the FCT Administration completing 19 projects in the past year under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
