Government Secondary School Kubwa held its first trade fair to teach students entrepreneurship skills.
The Trade and Technology Department organized the two-day event as part of FCT Education Secretariat’s plan to make students job creators, not job seekers.
Students sold handmade items including wall paints, slippers, handbags, wigs, snacks, and pen holders. Many products attracted buyers and students made good sales.
Local traders also participated, selling clothes, shoes, bedding, and food items alongside the students.
Principal Dr. Anderson Kolawole Oseh said the fair gave students a platform to showcase their business talents and connect with the local business community.
Dr. Mohammed Sani Ladan, Director of the Secondary Education Board, was represented by Dr. Niyi Elijah Owolabi at the opening ceremony. Other school principals and education officials also attended.
The colorful event successfully demonstrated students’ growing entrepreneurial spirit.
