Superintendent Josephine Adeh has been named Police Public Relations Officer of the Year at the 2024 Nigeria Police Force Awards.

The FCT Police Command spokesperson received the honor Wednesday night in Abuja for her skilled handling of security communications and effective social media engagement with citizens.

SP Obi Sentome from Zone 16 Cybercrime Section also won an integrity award. He was recognized for turning down a $17,000 bribe meant to free a suspect in police custody.

Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun praised both officers at the ceremony. He said they showed courage, integrity, and strong commitment to their duties.

“Tonight’s awardees are extraordinary not because of fame or money, but because they refuse to be ordinary. You represent quiet heroism,” Egbetokun told the gathering.

The police chief explained that these awards mark a new approach. The selection process focused on merit, performance, and real impact rather than routine recognition.

The ceremony highlighted officers who have made significant contributions to policing and public safety across Nigeria.
