President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced that the 2025 West Africa Economic Summit (WAES) will be held in Abuja from June 20 to 21, 2025.

The announcement was made on Friday through his official X (formerly Twitter) account. The summit will focus on the theme: “Unlocking Trade and Investment Opportunities in the Region.”

President Tinubu said the event is part of his commitment to a foreign policy that supports the people, boosts prosperity, and strengthens Nigeria’s place in the world.

“This summit is not just an event but a bold step toward a prosperous, integrated West Africa powered by trade, innovation, and our most valuable asset—our people,” he said.

WAES 2025 is expected to bring together West African leaders, business executives, investors, young innovators, and development partners. The event will feature a presidential roundtable, investment matchmaking sessions, youth showcases, and regional dialogue forums.

President Tinubu invited global partners to join in building a stronger, more united, and competitive West Africa.
