President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has restated his administration’s dedication to tackling insecurity, reforming governance, and curbing corruption as his presidency marks two years.
Speaking on Wednesday, Tinubu assured Nigerians that his government is working hard to restore peace and stability, with a strong focus on national security.
He promised full support for security agencies, saying they will be equipped with the tools and resources needed to combat terrorism, banditry, and other threats across the country.
“Our mission is clear—we will fight insecurity wherever it exists,” the President said.
Reiterating his Renewed Hope Agenda, Tinubu said his government is focused on reducing poverty, stabilizing the economy, and strengthening institutions with a strong anti-corruption drive.
He acknowledged the economic difficulties Nigerians are facing but stressed that recent reforms were essential to avoid a fiscal crisis that could have led to soaring inflation, fuel shortages, debt default, and a collapsing Naira.
Despite the challenges, Tinubu highlighted early signs of progress, including falling prices of rice and basic food items and renewed growth in the oil and gas industry.
“Rig activity is up by over 400% compared to 2021, and new investments of over $8 billion have been secured,” he noted.
He said the economy has now stabilized, setting the stage for sustainable growth and resilience against global shocks.
Tinubu thanked Nigerians for their patience and support, pledging continued efforts to rebuild the nation and restore hope.
