Fans are eagerly anticipating the D’Tigress homecoming basketball tournament set to take place in Abuja from July 18 to 20, 2025. This marks the first time Nigeria’s national women’s basketball team will play on home soil after winning five consecutive Afrobasket championships.
The tournament will feature matches against Kenya and Togo and is organized by El Carnaval in partnership with the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF). Besides the games, the event will include empowerment programs and basketball camps for young players.
The homecoming tournament also serves as preparation for the upcoming FIBA Women’s AfroBasket 2025 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Fans will have the chance to meet and cheer for the team ahead of this important competition.
