Wike: Attempt to Unseat Tinubu in 2027 Is a Waste of Time
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has issued a strong political warning, stating that any attempt to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections is a waste of time.
Speaking during a political event in Abuja, Wike pledged his unwavering support for the President and vowed to “clear the FCT” for him in the next election.
“Anyone planning to unseat Bola Tinubu come 2027 in the FCT and Nigeria at large is deceiving himself,” he said.
Wike, a former governor of Rivers State and a prominent political figure, reaffirmed his allegiance to President Tinubu’s leadership, citing ongoing efforts to fulfill national promises and improve governance.
His statement has sparked political debate, as it underscores both his loyalty to the APC and his growing influence within the capital territory.
With the 2027 election season gradually heating up, Wike’s remarks serve as an early indication of the political battle lines being drawn.
