The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has called for the cancellation of the recent elections held in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), citing widespread irregularities and violations of electoral guidelines.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the party alleged that the election process was marred by vote-buying, intimidation of voters, and the manipulation of results in several polling units.

SDP leaders also accused some electoral officials of collusion and demanded an immediate investigation by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“We cannot accept results born out of a flawed process. The will of the people must be respected, and any election that fails to meet basic standards of fairness must be nullified,” the statement read.

The party urged INEC to take swift action to restore public confidence in the electoral system, warning that failure to do so could undermine democracy in the capital and beyond
