
The Federal Government has declared Thursday, May 1, 2025, as a public holiday to commemorate this year’s Workers’ Day celebration.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Interior, the Minister, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, congratulated Nigerian workers for their contributions to national development and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving their welfare and working conditions.
He urged workers across the country to remain dedicated, patriotic, and committed to the progress of the nation, while calling for continuous dialogue between the government and labour unions to foster a harmonious industrial climate.
Workers’ Day, also known as International Labour Day, is observed annually to celebrate the achievements of workers and promote labour rights around the world.
