Abuja — The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reassured residents of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) that two critical rural road projects will be completed and inaugurated by May.
Wike reaffirmed the FCT Administration’s commitment to closing the infrastructure gap between the city centre and underserved communities, emphasizing that the ongoing road projects are part of President Bola Tinubu’s inclusive development agenda.
“This is the president’s directive—to ensure no community is left behind. These roads are not just about connectivity, they are about opportunity, accessibility, and national growth,” the minister stated.
He praised AMAC Chairman, Christopher Maikalangu, for identifying the roads as top development priorities, noting that their completion would ease urban congestion and unlock new economic opportunities for satellite communities.
In addition to the road projects, Wike announced plans to construct schools in Ketti and Takushara, subject to the approval of the 2025 FCT Statutory Budget by the National Assembly.
The minister also called on residents to embrace the spirit of unity, tolerance, and patriotism during the Easter season, while highlighting the FCT Administration’s focus on prioritizing public infrastructure over private estate development.
