Abuja — Vice President Kashim Shettima has dismissed reports claiming he was barred from the Presidential Villa. He described the story as a “mischievous fabrication” aimed at causing tension.

The statement came on Saturday from his spokesperson, Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, after an online platform claimed Shettima was denied access and ordered to remain at home until President Bola Tinubu’s return from an overseas trip.

Nkwocha, who is the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), said the report was false and meant to mislead the public.

“These reports are completely fabricated. They were created to spark confusion and suggest a problem inside the Presidency,” he said. “No such incident ever happened.”

He also dismissed claims that military personnel blocked Shettima from entering the Villa. He called it “a wild imagination” by people unfamiliar with how government works.

Nkwocha linked the false report to earlier fake news, including doctored campaign posters featuring Tinubu and Shettima. He said the goal was to weaken the unity between the two leaders.

“These fairy tales are nothing but mischief and distraction. The relationship between the President and Vice President remains strong,” he added.

Nkwocha assured Nigerians that Shettima is fully focused on his duties and remains loyal to the President’s vision.

“The Vice President has no time for distractions created by people trying to stir trouble where none exists,” he said.

The Presidency urged the public and media to confirm stories from reliable sources before sharing them.
