In a robust effort to enhance road safety during the Easter celebration period, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has deployed more than 200 mobile courts across Nigeria to prosecute traffic offenders on the spot.
Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed announced this significant initiative as a core component of FRSC’s special Easter patrol operations, which commenced on Thursday and will continue through April 23rd.
The mobile courts have been strategically positioned to enforce traffic regulations rigorously, with the primary objective of ensuring a smooth and safe holiday experience for all road users throughout the country.
To enhance operational effectiveness, the FRSC has activated a central situation room at its headquarters. This command center will monitor road incidents in real time, relay critical updates to field commands, and coordinate rapid response to emergencies wherever they occur across the nation’s highway network.
Furthermore, Corps Marshal Mohammed has directed all commanding officers to actively engage with strategic partners within their jurisdictions. These collaborative partnerships are designed to provide essential moral, logistical, and security support to strengthen the campaign against traffic violations during the festive period.
With thousands of Nigerians expected to travel for Easter celebrations, the FRSC’s comprehensive approach to road safety enforcement is being widely commended as a timely intervention aimed at reducing accidents and maintaining order on highways.
The initiative underscores the Corps’ commitment to its mandate of making Nigerian roads safer, particularly during peak travel seasons when traffic incidents traditionally spike due to increased vehicle movement and driver fatigue.
