The United States Embassy in Abuja has announced new requirements for visa applicants, starting from Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
In an official statement, the Embassy said all applicants must now ensure that the DS-160 visa application form they submit has a confirmation or barcode number (starting with “AA00”) that matches the number used when booking their visa interview appointment.
The Embassy also reminded applicants that the interview location must match the location selected on the DS-160 form. For Abuja applicants, the form must clearly indicate Abuja, and the appointment must also be scheduled for the Abuja office.
This change, according to the statement, is meant to help streamline the application process and ensure smooth handling of documents during visa interviews.
Applicants are advised to double-check their DS-160 form details before booking appointments to avoid delays.
