Guzape Mall to Boost Economic Growth in Abuja – Wike
Abuja, Nigeria – April 10, 2025
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says the newly commissioned Guzape Mall will play a key role in boosting economic growth and creating jobs in Abuja.
At the official opening on April 9, Wike—represented by Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud—called the mall a major step in strengthening the city’s economy and improving internally generated revenue.
“This mall is more than just a retail center. It reflects our commitment to building modern infrastructure that empowers businesses and benefits Abuja residents,” Wike said.
The mall was developed through a public-private partnership between Abuja Investment Company Limited (AICL) and Urban Shelter Limited. Located on 1.45 hectares, it includes 46 commercial units and over 200 parking spaces, serving areas like Guzape, Asokoro, Garki, and Apo.
Ambassador Maureen Tamuno, Group Managing Director of AICL, noted the project has already created jobs during construction and will continue to provide employment in retail, security, and maintenance.
“This is part of our plan to build vibrant commercial hubs that support Abuja’s economy,” she said.
Saadiya Aminu, Managing Director of Urban Shelter, encouraged investors and entrepreneurs to explore the mall’s modern facilities.
“Guzape Mall is designed to be a top destination for business and lifestyle. It offers a strong opportunity for growth,” she added.
The project supports the FCT administration’s broader goal of turning Abuja into a model city with strong infrastructure and sustainable development.
