Nigeria – April 10, 2025
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the loading price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) to ₦865 per litre, marking a major development in Nigeria’s fuel market.
This price slash comes as the refinery begins large-scale supply of petrol into the domestic market, aiming to ease pressure on fuel prices and support nationwide distribution.
Industry insiders say the move could lead to a drop in pump prices once independent marketers begin loading directly from the facility.
With its massive 650,000 barrels-per-day capacity, the Dangote Refinery is expected to transform Nigeria’s energy sector by reducing dependence on fuel imports and stabilizing supply.
Analysts believe this development could positively impact inflation and transportation costs, giving consumers some relief in the coming weeks.
