The FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his strong commitment to improving infrastructure in Abuja.
She said his leadership has led to major upgrades in roads, urban development, and public facilities, improving life for both residents and visitors.
Mahmoud made the remarks during the official opening of Guzape Mall in Abuja.
She described the mall as a vibrant hub that will meet the commercial needs of the Guzape community and beyond.
“This mall represents progress, vision, and the spirit of development that defines modern Abuja,” she said. “It supports local businesses, creates jobs for youth, and offers a space for leisure and connection.”
The Minister added that strategic and sustainable projects like this show the administration’s goal of building a prosperous, well-connected capital.
She said such developments also boost the economy and strengthen Abuja’s position as a world-class city.
Also speaking at the event, the Group Managing Director of Abuja Investment Company Limited, Amb. Maureen Tamuno, said the mall was developed with Urban Shelter Limited through a successful public-private partnership.
Tamuno noted the mall created hundreds of construction jobs and will continue to provide employment in retail, services, hospitality, and maintenance.
She thanked the FCT Administration, led by Barrister Nyesom Wike, for supporting the project. She credited the mall’s success to the dedication and teamwork of all stakeholders.
“We are proud of our partnership with Urban Shelter Limited and the progress we’ve made together,” she said.
Guzape Mall covers 1.45 hectares of land, with only 27% built-up area, in line with Abuja’s planning standards. It includes over 200 parking spaces and 46 commercial units.
