Emir Of Keffi Pledges Support For Badminton Development In FCT

The Emir of Keffi, Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa III, has pledged full support for the FCT Badminton Association’s efforts to grow the sport and empower young people.

He made the promise during a courtesy visit by the association’s leadership, led by Retired Comptroller Usman Bappa, to his palace in Keffi.

Recognised as a strong supporter of badminton, the Emir praised the association’s focus on youth development and grassroots engagement. He said badminton can help shape lives, promote discipline, and unlock opportunities for the youth.

The Emir assured the group of his continued support and promised to use his influence to connect the association with partners who can help their cause.

Earlier, Bappa thanked the Emir for his warm reception and shared the association’s progress. He highlighted their efforts in grassroots mobilization, talent discovery, and promoting badminton across the FCT.

He also outlined future plans, including tournaments, training clinics, and school partnerships aimed at building a strong badminton culture.

The visit ended on a positive note, with both sides hopeful about the future of the sport. The association believes support from traditional leaders like the Emir will help them achieve their vision.
