The Jama’atu Izalatul Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) has confirmed the tragic killing of its financial secretary, Khalid Adamu, by suspected terrorists in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
In an official statement released via Facebook on Thursday, the religious organization reported that Adamu was fatally stabbed at his residence in Lugbe, a district within the FCT.
“Some terrorists have stabbed to death (Khalid Adamu) at his residence. He is the financial secretary of the JIBWIS at Lugbe Division in the Federal Capital Territory,” the statement read.
The leader of JIBWIS, Sheikh Dr. Abdullahi Bala Lau, extended condolences to the family of the deceased and members of the organization in the FCT.
While no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, the JIBWIS leadership has urged the police in the FCT to thoroughly investigate the killing and ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
When contacted, the FCT police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, stated that she had not yet been briefed on the incident.
Authorities are expected to launch an investigation to determine the motive behind the attack and apprehend those responsible.
