Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) will host the 2025 Africa Company of the Year (ACOY) Competition in Abuja this December. A flagship initiative of JA Africa, the event will bring together student entrepreneurs from across the continent to compete for the prestigious Africa Company of the Year title.
The competition provides young innovators with a platform to develop business ideas, present them to investors, and gain international exposure. It also connects participants with industry leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs who support student-led ventures. Competitors will receive mentorship, engage with business experts, and gain hands-on experience navigating the business world.
Nigerian student entrepreneurs have consistently excelled at ACOY, showcasing their ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit:
- 2024 – Smart Sprout from Darun Noor Intercontinental School, Kano, presented a Smart Sprinkler for sustainable farming.
- 2023 – Sustainable Future Advocate Company from Kosofe Senior College, Lagos, won the Public Choice Award and the Delta Air Lines Social Impact Award in Kigali.
- 2018 – Inventive Explorers from Caro Favored College, Lagos, emerged winners in Ghana with their rechargeable handheld LED traffic lights.
These achievements highlight JAN’s impact in preparing young Nigerians for global competition and fostering innovation among future business leaders.
The 2025 ACOY Competition in Abuja promises to be a dynamic event, bringing together the brightest young minds in Africa to showcase groundbreaking business ideas and entrepreneurial excellence.
