The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted thunderstorms and fluctuating weather conditions across various regions from Tuesday to Thursday, urging residents to take necessary precautions.
According to NiMet’s latest weather update, North-Central states, including the Federal Capital Territory, Benue, Nasarawa, and Kogi, will experience isolated thunderstorms on Tuesday morning. By the afternoon and evening, the storms are expected to extend to Niger, Plateau, and Kwara states.
On Wednesday, thunderstorms are predicted in Kebbi, Zamfara, Taraba, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, and Kaduna, while North-Central states may witness storm activity later in the day.
By Thursday, Taraba, Benue, Kwara, and Kogi will be affected by thunderstorms, while the southern states will experience a combination of cloudy skies, sunshine, and scattered thunderstorms.
NiMet also issued a warning about strong winds preceding thunderstorms and advised residents to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged sun exposure, and take precautions against heat stress and meningitis.
As weather conditions continue to fluctuate, NiMet encourages citizens to stay updated with official forecasts and take necessary safety measures to mitigate potential risks.
