Notorious Kidnapper Shaibu Alhaji Ahijo Arrested by Scorpion Squad
Operatives of the Scorpion Squad have apprehended Shaibu Alhaji Ahijo, a 25-year-old notorious kidnapper who had been declared wanted by the Department of State Services and other security agencies. Ahijo was arrested at Nyanya Under Bridge on March 24 around 6:00 p.m. following a tip-off.
During interrogation, Ahijo confessed to participating in multiple kidnappings across the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, and Benue States. He disclosed that he collected ₦1 million in ransom from his most recent operation.
Additionally, Ahijo revealed that three of his gang members—identified as Musa, Haruna, and Babangida—were killed by security operatives during a failed kidnapping attempt in Benue State. He had traveled to Abuja to regroup with his gang prior to his arrest.
Ahijo remains in custody as investigations are ongoing. The FCT Police Command has yet to issue an official statement regarding the arrest.
