Nigeria to Host First International Civil Service Conference in Abuja, June 2025

Nigeria is set to host the inaugural International Civil Service Conference from June 25 to June 27, 2025, in Abuja as part of activities marking the 2025 Nigerian Civil Service Week.

The conference aims to enhance public sector efficiency by fostering global collaboration and knowledge exchange. To ensure a seamless event, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Didi Esther Walson-Jack, has inaugurated a 25-member Local Organizing Committee (LOC) responsible for planning and execution.

A statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Eno Olotu, highlighted the significance of the event:

“As part of activities to mark the 2025 Nigerian Civil Service Week, Nigeria will host the maiden edition of the International Civil Service Conference from Wednesday, June 25, to Friday, June 27, 2025, in Abuja. This landmark event aims to strengthen the capacity and effectiveness of the public sector through global dialogue and collaboration.”

During the inauguration of the LOC, Mrs. Walson-Jack emphasized the committee’s vital role in ensuring a successful conference. She also underscored the importance of the event in addressing key challenges within the civil service.

“This conference provides a unique platform for civil servants, policymakers, and professionals worldwide to exchange ideas, showcase reform initiatives, and deliberate on strategic approaches to enhance public sector service delivery,” she stated.

The event is expected to attract key stakeholders from across the globe, fostering discussions on best practices and innovative solutions for public service improvement.
