Abuja, Nigeria – March 26, 2025

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as public holidays to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr. The announcement was made today by the Minister of Interior, who congratulated the Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.

The government urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity in the country. Security agencies have also assured citizens of their safety during the celebrations, advising the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.

Eid-el-Fitr, also known as the Festival of Breaking the Fast, marks the end of Ramadan, a period of fasting, prayer, and reflection observed by Muslims worldwide. The declaration of these public holidays will allow Nigerians, especially the Muslim community, to celebrate with their families and loved ones.

As the nation prepares for the festivities, the government has encouraged citizens to celebrate responsibly and embrace the values of tolerance, love, and national unity.
