The newly appointed Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ajao Adewale, has officially assumed duty, vowing to enhance security and maintain law and order in Abuja.

Adewale took over from Olatunji Disu, who was recently promoted to Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).

During his inaugural address, the new FCT police chief pledged to build on his predecessor’s achievements by strengthening crime prevention strategies and ensuring the safety of residents.

“I am committed to providing effective leadership and working closely with all stakeholders to tackle security challenges in the FCT,” Adewale stated.

His appointment is part of the Nigeria Police Force’s ongoing efforts to reinforce security leadership in key regions. With years of experience in policing and crime management, Adewale is expected to bring significant improvements to law enforcement operations in the nation’s capital.

Residents and security stakeholders are looking forward to his administration’s approach to addressing issues such as armed robbery, kidnapping, and traffic-related crimes in the FCT.
