The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has donated 10,000 bags of 25kg rice to religious bodies, groups, and special needs schools in Abuja in commemoration of the holy month of Ramadan.

The donation, which took place at an official event in Abuja, is part of the minister’s efforts to support Muslim faithful and vulnerable groups during the fasting period. Representatives from various religious organizations, community leaders, and school administrators were present to receive the food supplies.

Speaking at the event, Wike emphasized the importance of unity and compassion, especially during Ramadan, a time dedicated to fasting, prayer, and charity. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that all residents of the FCT, regardless of background, receive the necessary support during festive and spiritual seasons.

“This is a time of reflection, love, and sharing. It is our duty to support one another and ensure that no one goes hungry during this sacred period. The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) will continue to prioritize the welfare of all residents,” Wike stated.

Religious leaders and beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the minister’s generosity, describing the donation as a significant relief for many fasting Muslims and underprivileged individuals.

The distribution will be handled by designated religious and community leaders to ensure that the rice reaches those in need across various districts of the FCT.
