The Federal Government has commissioned a solar-powered water facility at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Kubwa, Abuja, providing much-needed relief to corps members.

The project was inaugurated on Saturday by the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof. Joseph Utsev, as part of activities marking the 2025 World Water Day.

Prof. Utsev highlighted that the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to improve water and sanitation infrastructure across the country.

With thousands of corps members passing through the camp every two weeks, he stressed the importance of clean water for their health and hygiene.

NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Olakunke Nafiu, praised the project as a game changer, emphasizing that access to clean water is vital for national development.

This initiative marks a significant step in improving living conditions for corps members and strengthening Nigeria’s commitment to clean water accessibility.
