A Nigerian Navy officer, Lt. Cynthia Akor, who is attached to theAbducted was kidnapped along with two others from their residence in the Mpape area of Abuja on Friday night.
According to a source familiar with the situation who requested anonymity for security reasons, the kidnappers have contacted the families of the hostages and are demanding a ₦100 million ransom for their release.
Attempts to reach military officials for comment were unsuccessful. The Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Markus Kangye, and the Director of Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Tukur Gusau, had not responded to inquiries at the time of reporting.
When contacted, FCT Police Command spokesperson Josephine Adeh stated she would confirm the incident and provide additional details, but had not done so by publication time.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the abduction or rescue efforts.
