First Lady Mourns Victims of Tragic Abuja-Keffi Tanker Explosion

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, expressed her deep sorrow over the tragic tanker explosion that occurred on Wednesday along Karu Bridge on the Abuja-Keffi Highway, resulting in multiple fatalities and significant property damage.

In a statement released by her Media Aide, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady conveyed her condolences to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, as well as to the families of the deceased, the injured, and all those affected by this devastating incident. She recognized the profound pain and loss endured by residents, business owners, and the broader Abuja community.

“I am deeply saddened by the unfortunate incident of the tanker explosion, which led to the loss of many lives and property. I extend my heartfelt sympathies to the Minister of the FCT, the families of those who lost their lives and those who were injured, as well as everyone impacted by this tragedy,” she stated.

The First Lady urged vehicle owners and drivers, particularly those of articulated vehicles, to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy and in good condition to prevent such occurrences in the future.

“I pray that Almighty God grants eternal rest to the souls of the departed and provides their families and friends with the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss. To the injured, I wish you a swift recovery,” she added.
