The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has expressed deep sympathy for the victims of the tragic motor accident that occurred on Tuesday evening in Abuja. In a swift response, Wike has directed that all medical bills of the injured be covered by the FCT Administration, ensuring they receive the best possible care.
Speaking on Wednesday, the minister emphasized the need for stricter adherence to traffic regulations to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future. He urged motorists and road users to prioritize safety, cautioning against reckless driving and disregard for road signs.
“I deeply sympathize with the victims of this unfortunate accident and assure them of the FCT Administration’s full support in their recovery. It is crucial that we all comply with traffic rules to prevent such tragedies,” Wike stated.
Eyewitnesses reported that the accident involved multiple vehicles, resulting in injuries to several individuals. Emergency response teams were quickly dispatched to the scene, providing immediate medical assistance before transferring the victims to various hospitals in the FCT.
Authorities have since launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, while the FCT Administration continues to push for stricter enforcement of traffic laws.
