ABUJA – Accountants from the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), on Wednesday, distributed educational materials and paid school fees for 180 underprivileged pupils at LEA Primary School, Iddo Sariki, Abuja.
The event, held on the school premises, aimed to support education and empower underprivileged communities.
The donation included new school uniforms, school bags filled with notebooks, and financial assistance to help parents cover educational expenses.
Led by Pastor Joseph Adeyokunnu, RCCG Intercontinental Financial Controller, the church accountants chose the school due to its significant population of disadvantaged students struggling to access basic educational resources.
Pastor Adeyokunnu oversaw the distribution, ensuring that each child received the necessary tools for academic success.
He explained that the donation is expected to alleviate financial burdens on parents and guardians, enabling the pupils to concentrate on their studies.
The beneficiaries included pupils from Muslim families, reflecting RCCG’s commitment to unity and cooperation across religious lines.
Adeyokunnu stated, “Regarding the quantity of what we have distributed, we found that some parents are unable to afford school uniforms and essential items like bags, books, notebooks, and even some cash. To the best of our ability, we’ve reached out to assist them.”
He further urged critical stakeholders to help improve the standard and quality of education.
“Many of our public institutions are deteriorating, possibly due to the economic situation. We appeal to government authorities to prioritize education, as it is the foundation of society and the future of any nation,” he noted.
