The new Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, has warned criminal elements disturbing the peace of the nation’s Capital to immediately leave the city before he unleashes his men to contain their nefarious activities.
The Police Commissioner gave this warning in Abuja, while addressing the officers and men of the FCT police Command on his assumption of duties as the 32nd Commissioner of Police to oversee the affairs in the 48-year-old Territory.
The CP acknowledged the pockets of security challenges faced by some residents and assured that he would remain committed to tackling all forms of crime and criminalities.
Disu promised to build on the success of his predecessor by ensuring that residents sleep with their two eyes closed.
He revealed that the Police under his watch would use different mechanisms to solve the security challenges facing the nation’s Capital.
Disu pledged to prioritize community policing, technology integration, training and development, and intelligence gathering, and therefore, called on the general public to always give useful information that will assist the police in rooting out criminals in the Territory.
He said,”It is both an honour and privilege to stand before you as the new Commissioner of Police Federal Capital Territory. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Inspector General of Police for entrusting me with this critical responsibility”.
“As I assume this role, I am acutely aware of the security challenges facing the FCT. I want to advise those who seek to disrupt the tranquillity of the FCT to leave now before it is too late as my tenure will be marked by zero tolerance to all forms of crime and criminality,” Disu reiterated.
“We will not waver in our commitment to safeguard our community while making sure that citizen’s Rights are respected,” the Commissioner emphasized.
Abuja Digest recalls that the newly appointed FCT Police boss, who is also the immediate past Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olatunji Disu, resumed duties recently.
