As part of the one year anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has launched ‘Renewed Hope Free Medical Outreach’ to take care of indigent residents of the Territory that require medical attention.
The free Outreach was launched in Kuje, the headquarters of the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Wednesday.
The FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, who launched the free Outreach where over 1,000 residents received various medical services, said that President Tinubu’s government was determined to improving health indices and other aspects of human development across the country.
The Minister of State reiterated that it was part of activities lined up to mark the one year in office of President Bola Tinubu.
Mahmoud, who was represented at the occasion by the Mandate Secretary, Health Services and Environment Secretariat, FCTA,
Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe, noted that the special health care initiative would not end at the outreach venues, but would continue at all FCTA healthcare facilities in the Territory’s rural areas.
According to her, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, was not only focusing on infrastructural development, but was also working to improve other areas of residents’ lives.
Her words: “Here today, we have six different departments, antenatal care for pregnant women, general out patients care, paediatrics, eye and dental cares. We also have health insurance that will guarantee that even after today, you will continue to have access to health.”
“The plan of this government is to renew hope. We have over 1000 people here and we have assured them of quality services. Nobody will leave here unattended to,” Mahmoud emphasized.
“We have food and nutrition section. Not only are we checking, we are demonstrating and giving protein energy packs for both children and adults. We have HIV/ Aids care. It doesn’t stop there, we also have a follow up care”, the Minister of State added.
The representative of the Council Chairman, Abdullahi Sabo, said: “We are also using this medium to reassure the FCT Minister and the Minister of State that the good people of Kuje Area Council are happy with your developmental projects across the FCT.
Paramount ruler of Kuje, the Gomo of Kuje, Alhaji Haruna Jibrin, on his part said: “This is the first of its kind in Kuje Area Council, and we thank God for that.
